We understand the process first, then we write code.
Software written without understanding how the work runs does little more than digitise the existing mess.
DKC Click is the software brand of DKC. DKC has worked in communication for years; DKC Click builds software under the same roof — both our own products and our clients' work.
A bad neighbour makes you a homeowner.
Our founder, Deniz Kahveci, spent years in advertising. Over time his clients started asking for software too: a website, a dealer panel, a system that takes orders. So he outsourced the work — to freelancers, to software shops.
Then he learned something: in this business, the real work starts after delivery.
He had had a site built for a client. The domain expired and they tried to reach the developer to renew it. The phone was dead: “this number is no longer in service.” The client stranded, him stranded, and the person who wrote the site nowhere to be found.
Disappearing isn't the freelancer's only problem. They are one person; they fall ill, the work stalls, the phone goes unanswered. Changing a single phone number on a page takes months. “Let me work with a proper company then,” he said, and moved to software firms.
There he saw something else. The person running the company is usually the developer. They know how to write code, but running a business is a separate profession: planning, delivery schedules, collections, cash flow. When those don't work, one day the shop closes and the job is left half done.
Then he tried it from the other end: he found a talented developer and went into partnership. They were going to build the products he had in mind. They didn't. His money went, his time went. His family gave him the criticism he deserved — stop chasing these notions, you're wasting yourself.
In the end he saw there was only one road left: build it himself.
That is why DKC Click was founded. Both to build the products he had in mind, and so the software and website work coming into DKC would never again have to be handed to someone else.
Today, when a client of ours calls, someone answers. Someone knows about a domain that is about to expire. A small change fits into the same week rather than months. We count these things out deliberately, because we learned the other side by living it.
An agency, a software house, a product company — none of them exactly, a bit of all three. Most software firms either do other people's work or build their own product. We do both, and there is a deliberate reason for it:
You cannot learn to build products without shipping one of your own.
On a client project the scope ends somewhere, the invoice is issued, the work is delivered. On your own product it doesn't end: the store rejection, the server bill, the real user's complaint and the second year's maintenance are all yours. We put muuv in the stores ourselves and we keep DKC.ai running on our own server. The promise we make to our clients, we made to ourselves first.
Software written without understanding how the work runs does little more than digitise the existing mess.
Some jobs don't need software; a spreadsheet or the right use of an existing tool solves them. When that's the case, we say so.
We draw on AI while developing software; that is what lets us deliver the same job in less time.
We don't sell packages. Every job has something particular about it, and that is usually where the heart of the work lies.
